Proposed Construction: This project is along highway N-11, beginning one mile south of the east junction of N-11 and US-30 and ending one half mile north of the west junction of N-11 and US-30. Highway N-11 will be built on a new alignment crossing the south and west edges of Wood River. A viaduct will be built over the Union Pacific railroad tracks and US-30 near the west junction of N-11 and US-30. A pedestrian bridge will be constructed over the UPRR and Highway 30, near East Street. Related Studies: A location study was completed and approved in February of 2005. Right-of-Way: Acquisition of additional highway ROW and construction easements will be required throughout the length of the project. One home and several out buildings will be acquired and relocation assistance will be provided. Phasing: Most of this project is on new alignment and will not impact traffic. Where it will be in conflict, the project will be built under traffic utilizing staged construction and temporary surfacing. Schedule: This project is included in the State’s five year program. Construction will take approximately one year to complete. Cost: At today's prices including Right-of-Way, the estimated cost for the project is $9,400,000. |
