WEST Viaduct Project Contacts:
Proposed Construction: The purpose of this project is to remove a high volume at-grade railroad crossing and replace it with a viaduct over the Union Pacific Railroad. This project is located in Scotts Bluff County and includes the construction of about 1.04 miles of Nebraska Highway N-92 west of Scottsbluff and just west of the North Platte River crossing. The project begins at R.P. 18+90, and ends at R.P. 19+94. Related Studies: A location study was completed in December of 2004 Right of Way: The expected area of additional Right-of-Way to be acquired is approximately 21 acres. One business near the existing N-92 and Ridgeway intersection will also be acquired and relocation assistance will be provided. Phasing: Highway N-92 will remain open to traffic throughout construction. Traffic will be routed on temproary roadways around work zones during some phases of construction. Schedule: This project is scheduled to be LET to contract in July 2008 with construction beginning in the fall of 2008 and continuing for 1 year. These dates are tentative and are subject to change. Cost: The project cost is currently estimated to be 5.1 million dollars. |
