• Project 51267: This begins just north of Winters Creek Canal and extends north on new alignment. A new viaduct will be constructed over the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad and US-26. The new alignment will tie into the existing intersection of US-26 & Hwy. 71. County Road 20 will be relocated west along US-26. Left turn lanes will be added to US 26 at the intersection of Co.Rd.20 & US-26 and US-26 & N-92.

• Projects 51270 & 51270A: These begin at the intersection of Ave. "I" & Beltline Hwy. and extend to just north of Winters Creek Canal. A new doweled concrete 3-lane section will be built from this intersection to just west of Riverside Drive. Curb & gutter, a sidewalk, and drainage structures will be constructed. From Riverside Drive to Winters Creek Canal will be overlayed. The intersection of N-92/20th St. will be reconstructed in concrete to add left turn lanes.

Location: These 3 projects begin at the intersection of Ave “I” and Beltline Highway and extend to a new intersection with US-26 along the south and west side of Scottsbluff.

Intent of Projects:

• Improvement to the intersection of Ave “I”/Beltline Hwy;
• Reconstruction of the roadway from Ave “I” to Riverside Drive to a 3-lane section;
• Overlay of the roadway from Riverside Drive to Winters Creek Canal with reconstruction of the N-92/20th St intersection to add left turn lanes;
• Construction of a viaduct over the BNSF RR and US-26 along a new alignment;
• Relocation of County Road 20 to the west;
• The modification of the intersection of N-92/US 26;
• Left turn lanes will be added along US-26 at the intersections of Co. Rd. 20 & US-26 and N-92 & US-26.

Scope of Work: Construction will involve grading, drainage structures, Ave “I” intersection improvements, construction of a new 3-lane doweled concrete section with surfaced shoulders, curb & gutter, construction of a sidewalk, overlay of portions of the roadway & shoulders, reconstruction of the intersection of N-92 & 20th St to add left turn lanes, a new viaduct over the BNSF RR and US 26, and the relocation of the County Road 20/US-26 intersection, including the roadway lighting, to the west.

Schedule: This project is currently in the 5-year Program.

Proposed Accommodation of Traffic during Construction: Construction will be done under traffic. Temporary roads around work zones may be used during some phases of construction. A detour along 42nd St may be required during the viaduct girder seating. Other detour routes may be used.

Right of Way: Acquisition of property for highway right-of-way will be required throughout the length of the project. Right of way may be required at the intersection of Ave “I” and US-26. Control of access will be acquired from Winters Creek Canal north to the new intersection of N-92/US-26.

Wetlands: There may be wetlands located on this project. These may require mitigation.
