| Paxton-Sutherland Project Contacts: Toby Fierstein, NDOR Project Engineer, 402-479-4545 Proposed Construction: The proposed project begins west of the Paxton Link (NE-L51C, know locally as Oak Street), in Paxton, and continues east on US-30 (known as 2nd Street in Paxton) to the western city limits of Sutherland. The project consists of resurfacing the existing roadway and shoulders. Right-of Way: none anticipated Phasing: A segment of the project will involve closure of US-30, from the east corporate limits of Paxton at Sarben St. to the Nebraska Highway 25 (NE-25) connection at Sutherland. US-30 through traffic will be detoured onto Interstate 80 (I-80) using the L51C link (Elsie Road) at Paxton and Nebraska Highway 25 (NE-25) at Sutherland. Local traffic will be maintained. Schedule: The project is scheduled to be Let in the spring of 2010. Construction will take approximately one construction season to complete. Cost: The project is estimated to cost $6.9 million.
