Proposed Construction: This project will include major grading to reduce the hills and valleys to increase passing and intersection sight distance and provide flatter side slopes. The pavement will be replaced with 2-12’ lanes in each direction, with a 40’ depressed median and 8’ surfaced outside shoulders to provide a four-lane divided roadway. Drainage structure will be extended. Access control will be acquired and frontage roads constructed to reduce the number of direct accesses to N 133. Related Studies:
Right of Way: An estimated additional 68 acres of right-of-way is expected to be acquired. Existing access control will be modified and new access control will be obtained throughout the project. Four homes will be directly impacted by construction and must be acquired. Phasing: The project will be built under traffic. Traffic will be maintained by using old and new surfacing and cross-overs. Schedule: This 4.8 mile highway improvement project will take two construction seasons to complete. The earliest construction could start is the spring of 2009, subject to the availability of funds. Project Costs: $15,000,000 - Present day Dollars |
