This is our setup for testing the Roundness of Glass Beads. The beads are separated by sieve and a slide is made for the #30, #50, and #100 sieves. All three are checked and counted (combined and separately) for an Imperfections Percentage Composite. What is seen on the targeted board can be roughly compared to water droplets on glass, if we were looking at a composite sample rather than a sieved sample.

With Dual Coated Beads, Moisture Resistance, Chemical Stability, Bead Embedment, and Adherence Coating are also tested. With Type One Flotation Beads, we a Glass Spheres floating on Xylene test. A Refractive Index test that is performed on both types by other Materials and Research personnel.
