Highway Commission
The Nebraska Highway Commission is composed of eight members, one from each of the eight field districts. They are appointed by the Governor for six-year terms, with approval of the Legislature. The Commission serves in an advisory capacity to the Director, but is not involved in the daily business of NDOR.
The Annual Meeting Calendar (accessible via the link above) includes eight meetings. Four of these meetings are held at NDOR Headquarters in Lincoln, and four in various Districts. At these meetings, and at other hearings on proposed projects throughout the year, the Commission serves as a channel for citizens to voice their opinions concerning the state highway system.
